#14. Atlético Mineiro - Felipe Ribbe Vasconcellos - International growth through disruptive innovations

Atlético Mineiro is a professional football club founded in 1908, playing at the first level of Brazilian football (Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A) and has won more than 71 official titles, including 1 Copa Libertadores, 2 CONMEBOL Cup, and 45 championships. It’s one of the biggest football clubs in South America that attracted top players such as Ronaldhinio, João Leite or Robinho.

Atlético Mineiro is also one of the leaders in the Brazilian football market when it comes to bring strategic innovation to engage with fans and create new revenue streams.

One year ago, the club has hired its first Head of Innovation to expand its commercial operations both domestically and internationally.

And we had the pleasure to discuss with him! Felipe Ribbe de Vasconcellos has been through his professional journey, from his position as a journalist at Sport TV - the biggest sports broadcaster in Brazil, to his current role at Atlético Mineiro. We discussed the relevance of innovation within an organisation and its influence on the club's international expansion.
