Summer Startup Update: LiveLike Greenfly & turfcoach

For some of us, it may feel like just yesterday that the new year 2024 began. Six fast months have flown by, and now we find ourselves in the month of the Olympics, eagerly awaiting the grandest sporting event to kick off in Paris in less than three weeks. Despite the fleeting nature of time, our clients have maintained their positive momentum into Q3.

As we reach the halfway mark of the year, LiveLike, Greenfly, and turfcoach, our Advanced and LeStudio representatives, have made significant strides to ensure a strong entry into the summer months in Europe. In this blog, we’ll look at some of their updates since our last check-in this past spring. We hope you enjoy it!

LiveLike powers match experience for TF1+, introduced the fan token experience for Atletico Madrid and unveils new features:

Following the company's collaboration with French broadcaster TF1 in late 2023 to enhance fan engagement for the singing competition show "Star Academy”,  the partnership expanded with the creation of a tailor-made match centre experience. French fans following their team at Euro 2024 could access live stats on the TF1+ app powered by LiveLike. By offering users an additional screen to keep track of all the statistics, squads, plays, and games ahead, fans on the platform got the chance to watch the game in real-time and see the data behind every play and player.

In an already crowded marketplace with all the noise, it’s difficult to find a good fan experience solution that can deliver great commercial value for all stakeholders. Livelike’s collaboration with Socios to power Atletico Madrid’s fan token experience challenges this narrative and how. Through a combination of driving participation and rewarding fans for their daily engagement via tokens, LiveLike drives consumer retention, engagement and revenue uptick on Atletico Madrid’s official application. In other partnership news, LiveLike has joined forces with Infinite Athlete to enhance fan experiences across its network of clubs and sports organisations. Chelsea, a client of Infinite Athlete, has integrated LiveLike’s Play Predictor and Infinite Athlete’s Match View X technology into its mobile app, providing fans with a unique way to follow club news and updates.

In a world where ‘attention’ is the most coveted currency, perpetual innovation should be the staple of any sports tech company willing to scale its ARR and MRR. Abiding by that principle, LiveLike has consistently bolstered its tech stack this quarter by introducing new features like the ‘User Profile Browser’, ‘GraphQL APIs’ and new UGC widgets moderation capabilities.

Greenfly Closes $14M VC Round with NBA Investments, expands client portfolio with Let’s Go Racing and Yahoo Sports Additions!

Greenfly's impressive growth and strategic initiatives have positioned the company as a significant player in the short-form content space. In 2023, Greenfly onboarded over forty clients and acquired Miro AI to enhance its recognition of player faces and team logos. This potential has been recognised by investors, leading to a $14 million funding round in April, led by sports tech investor ADvantage, with participation from Ryan Sports Ventures, Mercato Partners, and NBA Equity.

In May, Greenfly partnered with Let's Go Racing to manage content flow for the company's driver and motorsport team network. This partnership enables sponsors to access real-time content and enhances the monetisation of short-form content. This partnership leverages the extensive brand exposure in motorsports through logo placements on driver apparel, cars, and other paraphernalia, expanding the brand's visibility across digital media. Recognising the competitive nature of the sports media landscape, Greenfly is powering Yahoo Sports' reporters, editors, and news staff with a streamlined short-form content distribution system. This platform facilitates remote collaboration and provides instant access to videos and photos, ensuring fans receive timely and high-quality content.

The effectiveness of Greenfly's technology was demonstrated when the Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup in June. The NHL utilises Greenfly's AI for digital media contextual analysis and scene detection, enabling fans to capture and share authentic, emotion-filled content. Greenfly's tech suite facilitates instant rights clearance and organised content access for fans. Additionally, the LTA is using Greenfly's technology at Wimbledon. This allows players to access and share assets immediately after their matches, enhancing engagement and sponsor visibility.
