DATA & NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR FOOTBALL PLAYERS
Since 2020 we work with FIFPRO to provide player unions and players with an annual framework programme on player data-based innovation and technology in the football industry.
CONTEXT: FIFPRO CHALLENGES
Since the beginning of data collection in professional football, stakeholders have taken considerable steps to collect more and more sensitive personal data related to players’ health and performance. In this context, FIFPRO has identified the need to develop an intelligence function to provide regular technology and innovation reports, focusing on assessing current and new technologies in the game and the potential challenge they may pose to the football industry.
FIFPRO DATA REPORT:
An analysis of the use of data in professional football
We delivered a comprehensive report on the history, role and current use of player data and its impact on the industry. We also provided recommendations to FIFPRO and its members on the opportunities, risks and challenges for the coming years in terms of adaptation and regulations.
We conducted an extensive benchmark on all technologies and service providers about the data type: event, tracking & biometric.
SOURCING & BENCHMARK
We analysed the use of this data by the entire football ecosystem in key areas, and the impact of these technologies and data for players' unions.
